Job Summary
Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the aquatic facility and act immediately to secure safety during emergencies. Provide emergency care and treatment as required until arrival of medical services while performing various maintenance duties to keep the facility clean. Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times, preparing activity reports and following verbal and written instructions. Possess skill in lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques, CPR certification, and current lifeguard certification. React calmly in emergency situations with less than high school education and 6 to 12 months of related experience.
Required Qualifications
- Less than high school with 6 months to 1 year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- CPR Certified
- Current certification as Lifeguard by a recognized source of training
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
