Job Summary
Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) to perform diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnography, including CPAP/BIPAP, MSLT and MWT, scoring of polysomnography records, and related patient care. Responsibilities include gathering/analyzing patient information, preparing/calibrating equipment, documenting observations, and maintaining sleep systems. Requires RPSGT certification and Iowa state licensure; completion of an associated polysomnography program or a minimum one-year polysomnography program; BRPT eligibility within 24 months; BLS; mandatory abuse reporting training. Night-shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with a sign-on bonus offered. Located in Des Moines, IA; MercyOne Health System.
Required Qualifications
- Certification by a nationally recognized certification board as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
- Licensed by the State of Iowa as a Polysomnographic Technologist
- Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography; or successful completion of a Polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed/nationally accredited educational facility
- Registered Respiratory Therapist or Neurodiagnostic Tech track; must become BRPT board eligible within 24 months of hire
- Maintain the RPSGT credential and the State Licensure through educational activity as outlined by the BRPT and State of Iowa
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certified or obtained within three months of hire
- Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire
