Job Summary
Perform Sleep Study Procedures or Neurological Testing for all patient populations while understanding equipment structure, function, and basic maintenance. Monitor and document patient data in medical records per facility guidelines, adhering to American Academy of Sleep Medicine standards. Educate patients on prescribed therapies and follow up as needed, accommodating all age groups and unique developmental needs. Maintain mandatory continuing education units annually and ensure Basic Life Support certification within 60 days of employment. This union position requires working 12-hour night shifts with 36 weekly hours in North Dakota, with eligibility to register with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists within two years of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program for Electroneurodiagnostic Technology or Respiratory Technology
- Possess basic knowledge of sleep disorders
- Electrical safety knowledge
- Skill to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for patient care
- Eligible to register with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
- Possess or obtain registry as a Respiratory Therapist (RT), Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) within two years of the date of hire into position
- Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- Working in North Dakota (ND)
- Obtain and maintain mandatory continuing education units (CEU) each year to maintain licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
