Job Summary

Analyze, monitor, and record physiologic data during sleep and wakefulness to assist in the treatment of sleep-related disorders. Provide therapeutic and diagnostic use of oxygen and positive airway pressure modalities, including CPAP, bilevel, and adaptive servoventilation, while maintaining nasal and oral airways. Perform Polysomnographic studies and manage patients with sleep and wake disorders. Requires BLS certification and either a PSGT or RCP license from the Medical Board of California, plus two years of recent experience. Knowledge of cardiorespiratory function, sleep physiology, and relevant pharmacology is essential. Full-time night shift with a variable schedule of 12 days per week.

Required Qualifications

  • Meets Medical Board of California requirements for PSGT licensees or meets Respiratory Care Board of California requirements for respiratory care practitioner program for RCP licensees
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • PSGT-Polysomnographic Technologist from Medical Board of California OR RCP-Respiratory Care Practitioner T
  • 2 years of recent experience
  • Knowledge of cardio respiratory function, sleep physiology and neurology
  • Understanding of physics, medical electronics, in-depth medical terminology, with emphasis on pulmonology, neurology, and sleep related pharmacology
  • psychological processes related to sleep/wake disturbances
  • Basic computer skills
  • Proven verbal and written skills
  • Ability to perform Polysomnographic studies
  • Variable Weekend Requirements: As Needed
