Job Summary

Set up, calibrate, and monitor recording equipment for polysomnograms, MSLT, NPT, and CPAP/BIPAP therapy to ensure artifact-free tracings. Greets and interviews patients to assess medications, substance ingestion, and sleep patterns while answering questions about the testing procedure. Prepares for high-risk situations, titrates therapy, and detects or corrects equipment malfunctions. Recognizes and records clinical events, interprets polysomnogram data, and prepares home sleep apnea tests with patient education. Files paperwork, schedules appointments, manages inventory, and maintains the lab environment under medical supervision.

Required Qualifications

  • Successful completion of ASTEP or equivalent sleep technology program associated with a state licensed or nationally accredited educational facility
  • minimum of six months experience as sleep trainee with documented proficiency in all required competencies
  • holds Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) credential or equivalent
  • Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program (A-STEP) - American Academy of Sleep Medicine
  • Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program (A-STEP) - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
  • Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation - American Heart Association
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation - American Red Cross
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation - American Trauma Event Management
  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
  • All qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily
