Pollution Control Operator I or II

Entry-level Pollution Control Operator I performs routine preventive maintenance and the operation/maintenance of the Water Pollution Control Facility, pump stations, and collection system equipment. Works under supervision of higher-grade Operators and follows established procedures and industry standards. Responsibilities include assisting with operation and adjustment of controls, maintenance/repair, reading meters and gauges, CCTV and cleaning of sewer lines, responding to emergency calls, assisting with wastewater sample collection, general facility maintenance, and adherence to safety requirements. Also responsible for operating pollution control vehicles and supporting on-the-job training for progression to higher-grade duties. Location: Town of South Windsor, Connecticut.
