Job Summary
Break major news stories and deliver exclusive investigations across print and video formats. Offer analysis of major political developments while working on fast-growing multimedia and video projects. Communicate with The National's large and increasing following through digital platforms. Maintain a strong contact book regarding Scotland's present and future, leveraging essential knowledge of all levels of government and Scots law. Work from the Glasgow office at least four days a week with regular travel expected. Join a team expanding its online reach and agenda-setting stories to work towards a better future for Scotland.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience of reporting on political issues and producing exclusive stories
- An up-to-date qualification in Scots law
- Knowledge of all levels of government
- A strong knowledge of Scottish current affairs and the constitutional question
- A strong contact book with people who want to talk about Scotland's present and future
- Comfortable working across digital platforms
Desired Qualifications
- NCTJ qualification with shorthand
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
