Job Summary
The Political Organizer will organize and track voter registration and Political Action Contribution campaigns, support organizing staff during campaigns, and mobilize union members around political issues. Responsibilities include coordinating PAC and voter registration activities, educating members through outreach, executing member mobilization for endorsed candidates, and building community coalitions. Candidates must have experience in union organizing, strong communication skills, and the ability to work flexible hours.
Required Qualifications
- Background in union organizing, progressive politics and/or political campaigns
- Experience with event turnout, volunteer recruitment and mobilization
- Strong grasp on contemporary political, legislative and labor issues and current events
- Adequate written and verbal communication skills including public speaking abilities
- Must maintain a valid state driver license
Desired Qualifications
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Experience with the healthcare community
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must be able to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends
