Job Summary
Operate buffing wheels, hand tools, and automatic polishing machines to finish precision components to required surface finishes and dimensional specifications. Use profilometers to verify surface quality, monitor air filtration systems, and perform hand lapping or engine lathing as needed. Maintain clean work areas through daily housekeeping and 5S activities while following all safety policies and PPE requirements. Progress through Class C, B, and A skill levels by mastering honing equipment, optimizing tooling, and mentoring entry-level employees. Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment and chemicals, standing and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous manufacturing, polishing, machining, or honing experience
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with precision components
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
