Job Summary
Polish Linguist for Corporate Language Support Services across YSG/TU portfolio. Responsibilities may include interpretation (in-person and virtual), translation of written/electronic/audio/video materials, document review/editing, and foreign language instruction in classroom or virtual environments. Open evergreen requisition intended to support multiple current and future requirements; candidates may be considered for a range of language support roles across the portfolio. Location options include Remote Operations Support in Huntsville, AL and Remote TU Support at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. Requires ILR proficiency levels for CAT I/II/III language categories, security vetting and appropriate clearance, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments as part of a team. Experience with translating and interpreting, plus instruction capabilities, and knowledge of relevant vocabulary in both English and the foreign language is required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be qualified/certified at CAT I, CAT II, or CAT III linguist level with ILR English proficiency (ILR level 2+ for CAT I/II, ILR level 3 for CAT III)
- Ability to provide idiomatic translations and consecutive interpretation between English and the foreign language
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students
- Ability to conduct interpretation in-person and virtual settings
- Ability to translate written, electronic, audio, and video materials
- Familiarity with local culture and customs and ability to work under high pressure and stress
- Ability to function as an integral member of a team of highly trained professionals
- Security clearance appropriate to CAT level (CAT I local nationals/TCN/uncleared U.S. citizens; CAT II US citizens with SECRET clearance; CAT III US citizens with TOP SECRET/SCI access)
- Willingness and ability to live/work in harsh environments as mission dictates
