Job Summary
Polish Language Instructor for LEAP/AFCLC, delivering one-on-one and small-group instruction online and on-site at Maxwell AFB, supporting The Language Enabled Airman Program and Air Force Culture and Language Center. Responsibilities include administering the eMentor curricula, preparing instructional aids, operating UCC platform tools for live sessions, delivering instruction aligned with lesson objectives (ILR Level 2 and above), providing one-on-one feedback, monitoring attendance, and coordinating OnDemand scheduling via LEaDeR. Requires ILR Advanced Professional Proficiency or ACTFL Superior in the target language(s), a bachelor’s degree in language instruction or related field (or five years of embedded cultural experience), and ability to teach across ILR 0–3+. Travel is not required.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess language skills in the target language(s) equivalent to ILR Advanced Professional Proficiency or ACTFL Superior in speaking and writing for each language/dialect to be instructed
- Must hold at least a bachelor’s level degree in language instruction or related social science field (e.g., History, Political Science, International Relations, Anthropology, Archeology, Cultural Geography) or have a minimum of five years of embedded experience in the target culture(s)
- Capable of delivering instruction and conducting assessments across ILR levels 0 through 3+
- Extensive global regional expertise
- Extensive knowledge of foreign language teaching techniques and instructional systems
- Extensive knowledge of learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology, and Instructional Product Development
- Extensive knowledge of instructional design practices, principles, techniques, and curriculum development
- Extensive knowledge of standardized, web-based, interactive course delivery systems
- Extensive expertise in instructor facilitation and faculty development
- Extensive knowledge of the use of computers in education and training
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in multimedia design and delivery (e.g., embedded video instruction)
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Adobe Acrobat Professional, and other productivity software
- eMentors may be dual nationals or native to regions where the language is commonly spoken and/or have demonstrated expertise in the relevant cultures and customs
- Clearance: must be able to pass a background check
