Job Summary
Manage assigned policy and administrative procedures manual customization projects by visiting school districts throughout Illinois to facilitate manual updates and align local policies with district needs. Provide ongoing proofing of subscriber responses and customized draft updates, while delivering policy training and reviewing collective bargaining agreements for locally bargained topics. Serve on the PRESS Advisory Board to review issue updates and contribute to the development of new services, tools, and resources. Present on school board policy and governance at conferences, workshops, and for individual boards across Illinois and nationally. Maintain accurate shared files, calendars, and procedures, and participate in cross-training and cross-department work teams. Travel frequently throughout Illinois with a valid driver's license, including overnight trips, and attend the Joint Annual Conference in Chicago.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid Illinois driver's license
- Ability to travel throughout Illinois
- Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends
- Ability to lift, move and safely handle boxes and materials up to 25 pounds
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Ability to use a computer and current software including Microsoft Office Professional Suite, Microsoft Office 365, NetForum, and other web-based applications
- Attention to detail, high degree of accuracy, and excellent proofreading skills
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to consistently exercise discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance
- Ability to manage multiple, competing tasks and deadlines
- Ability to self-start, self-direct, be detail-oriented, and work independently
