Job Summary
Review and process designated renewal applications, quotes, endorsements, cancellations, and loss runs for Excess & Surplus business using agency and carrier systems. Lead premium audits by reviewing correctness, processing invoices, securing additional information, and resolving disputes. Manage receipt and processing of incoming claim notices, including carrier reporting, file setup, and ongoing communication with agents and carriers. Deliver policy documents, generate quotes, and apply surplus lines taxes and fees for both Contract and Brokerage units. Maintain relationships with General Agencies and Underwriters for production, marketing, and troubleshooting while adhering to pre-set authority levels and underwriting guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- College degree with credits in business or insurance related subjects
- 3 years or more commercial P&C, professional, specialty lines or related experience including commercial lines rating and knowledge of agency operations
- Equivalent combination of education, technical and sales background experience
- Continuing education in insurance and job related issues and subjects
- Hawaii Property & Casualty Resident Producer and Surplus Lines Broker Licenses
- Willingness to obtain license within prescribed timeframe
- Attainment of or working toward insurance professional designation(s) (CISR, CIC, etc.)
- Strong knowledge & expertise in multi-line rating and underwriting
- Type 35 wpm accurately
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, self-directed in a team-oriented atmosphere
- Previous experience with or knowledge in use of general office equipment (copier, fax, scanning, etc.)
- PC navigation and Windows based software applications
- AIM or similar agency management systems
- PDF document editing
- ImageRight or similar imaging systems
- Customer service orientation
- Handling of time sensitive situations
- Mathematical and analytical aptitude
- Interpersonal and relationship building
- Reading and comprehension of insurance related documents
