Job Summary
Oversee the development, design, coordination, and implementation of interdisciplinary policy projects while conducting legal and policy research to translate findings into memos, explainers, reports, and presentations for leadership. Track legislative and regulatory developments at local, state, and federal levels, then engage key stakeholders including lawmakers, regulators, and healthcare providers to inform policy agendas. Collaborate with researchers to coordinate studies, shape narratives, and draft regulatory comments, public testimony, and external policy statements. This role supports the development and oversight of OHSSA policies within the Bureau of Equitable Health Systems to advance equity in healthcare delivery across New York City.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in public health, public policy, law, economics, health administration, health care management, business, or similar
- At least three years of relevant policy and/or research experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience leading community and stakeholder engagement
- Outstanding research, analytical, and writing skills, with strong attention to detail
- Experience working on interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to lead strategic visioning and operationalize mission-driven goals
- Ability to work independently and self-direct
- Ability to synthesize and present information on complex programs, policies, and research
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity, humility, and resourcefulness
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health
Desired Qualifications
- Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the doctorate or master's degree requirements above
