Job Summary
The Royal Society of Chemistry is seeking a Policy Advisor to contribute to key policy issues impacting chemical sciences. Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of how UK public policy is made
- First degree in science, economics or equivalent experience
- Good working knowledge of skills landscape and innovation in science
- Ability to evaluate complex quantitative and qualitative information
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proactive problem-solving approach
Desired Qualifications
- An academic or professional background in chemistry or chemistry related sectors
- Demonstrable understanding of the impact public policy has on chemistry
- Direct experience of working in a relevant role in civil service, higher education, research organisation, charity, or think tank
- Proven ability to manage contracts and external contractors
