Job Summary

The Royal Society of Chemistry is seeking a Policy Advisor to contribute to key policy issues impacting chemical sciences. Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of how UK public policy is made
  • First degree in science, economics or equivalent experience

  • Ability to evaluate complex quantitative and qualitative information
  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proactive problem-solving approach

Desired Qualifications

  • An academic or professional background in chemistry or chemistry related sectors
  • Demonstrable understanding of the impact public policy has on chemistry
  • Direct experience of working in a relevant role in civil service, higher education, research organisation, charity, or think tank
  • Proven ability to manage contracts and external contractors
