Police Social Worker

Job Summary
Act as a liaison between the Boone County Sheriff's Office and community agencies to provide crisis intervention, resource navigation, and short-term case management for opioid use disorder, mental health crises, and human trafficking. Conduct home visitations, attend court sessions for victim advocacy, and deliver seminars and training on social services issues. Maintain detailed records, databases, and correspondence while establishing collaborative relationships with local organizations. Safely transport passengers as necessary and work adjusted shifts or weekends as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other social science related field with three (3) years' experience in the area of social science
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other social science related field with two (2) years' experience in the area of social science
- Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive, and/or advisory data and information to communicate orally and in writing
- Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs
- Requires the ability to apply principles of social justice, social service, legal codes, and Psychology and to exercise independent judgment to apply facts and principles for developing approaches and techniques to resolve problems
- Requires the ability to perform multiple tasks and projects concurrently
- Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental, or subjective criteria, as opposed to that which is clearly measurable or verifiable
- Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Kentucky driver's license
- In-depth knowledge of Northern Kentucky human services organizations
- Ability to work with both public and private organizations
- Familiarity with non-profit law and best corporate practices
- Ability to understand financial statements and the IRS Form 990
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle

- Must adhere to the applicable provisions of the Code Enforcement and Safety Department Rules and Procedures, the Boone County Personnel Policies and Procedures, the Boone County Administrative Code, the Kentucky Revised Statutes, and any other procedures, rules, regulations, and policies set forth by appropriate authorities
- Must be neat in appearance
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have ability to pass drug and background checks
- May need to work adjusted shifts/hours or some weekends
