Job Summary
Coordinate and directly supervise master police officers, officers, and security personnel while analyzing physical security requirements. Investigate incidents and criminal activity by drafting warrants, interviewing suspects, securing evidence, and executing electronic or physical surveillance. Act as the senior on-the-scene official during after-hours emergencies, supervising crime scenes and determining courses of action. Coordinate law enforcement activity with field supervisors and local agencies, and report incidents impacting the organization to management. Develop crime prevention programs, conduct physical security surveys, gather statistical information, and assist in training staff. Perform related responsibilities as required, including serving warrants and carrying out arrests.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Four years of law enforcement experience with arrest authority
- Current certification by Georgia P.O.S.T. as a peace officer, or the ability to obtain certification within six months
- Able to meet background requirements, including a criminal history check
- Insurable driving record
- A valid Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with a handgun and other required weapons
- Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option
