Job Summary
Police Sergeant leads and supervises the Patrol Division, assigns and reviews work, coordinates training and staffing, takes charge of major incidents, conducts investigations with officers, inspects equipment, engages in public/community relations, performs routine patrol and traffic enforcement duties, serves warrants, provides court testimony, maintains courtroom security, and ensures adherence to federal/state laws and City ordinances. Requires leadership, strong communication, firearms proficiency, physical fitness, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent operations.
Required Qualifications
- Vocational/Technical School Diploma supplemented by a minimum of four (4) years of experience in the policing and/or supervisory fields or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid South Carolina Driver's License.
- Ability to use a firearm.
