Police Recruit (Non-Certified Officer)

Police Recruit for the City of Suwanee, a non-sworn position in the Suwanee Police Department, to participate in a comprehensive training program to become a certified Police Officer. The recruit will attend academy sessions, participate in practical exercises, and learn principles of law enforcement, community policing, and public safety. Academy starts January 2027; interviews are in September with plans for background checks and begin work in November/December 2026. Shift work, including nights, weekends and holidays, is required. Essential duties include training at the police academy, studying laws and procedures, developing proficiency in communication, de-escalation, problem-solving, report writing, evidence handling, and arrest techniques, completing physical agility tests, participating in simulations, and maintaining professional conduct.
