Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing campus law enforcement duties, responding to emergencies, patrolling on and off campus, enforcing criminal and traffic laws as well as university rules, testifying in court, issuing citations or referrals, providing security during details, and assisting the campus community. The role requires responding to calls for service, documenting incidents in the CLERK system, and performing other duties as assigned. Relevant qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, one year of related law enforcement experience (with substitution options), basic peace officer certification through TCOLE (and higher certifications for advanced levels), and the ability to work varied shifts, communicate effectively, and maintain a valid driver's license. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of related experience in law enforcement
- Basic peace officer certification through TCOLE
- Police Officer II/III/IV certifications with related experience as applicable
- Ability to work shift
- Ability to pass firearms qualification
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
- Ability to communicate effectively with all segments of the campus population
- Ability to function under adverse and stressful conditions
- Maintain a valid Driver License
