Job Summary
Conduct periodic tours of hospital buildings and grounds to visually check for safety and fire hazards. Enforce hospital policies to prevent theft and unauthorized access while responding to calls for assistance from staff, patients, and the 911 center. Investigate irregular activities, file reports on findings, and assist in emergencies inside and outside Reid Health facilities. Provide escort services, manage parking violations, and respond to fire emergency calls. Complete required Tier II law enforcement training and maintain 90% proficiency on all qualifications. Work a 40-hour weekly schedule from 8:00am to 8:00pm.
Required Qualifications
- Must be the age of 21
- Previous security experience
- Have or be able to obtain a valid handgun license for the State in which you reside
- Must successfully complete the required 10-week Tier II law enforcement training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy
- Must successfully complete all state-required in-service training
- Must successfully complete all required mandatory Police Officer training as assigned by the ILEA Police Academy
- Must successfully complete all required hospital training
- Must complete the Reid Health Police Department fire training
- Must maintain a proficiency of 90% on all qualifications per agency policy
- Must be able to obtain a valid handgun license for the State in which you reside
Desired Qualifications
- Criminal Justice or other relevant degree that would be beneficial to this position
