Job Summary
Escort patients, visitors, and staff; patrol hospital grounds, parking lots, and decks to deter vandalism and theft. Monitor closed-circuit television for escalating situations and intervene in confrontations as appropriate. Enforce hospital policies regarding parking, visitation, and smoking while maintaining professional conduct and confidentiality. Respond to emergency alarms and participate in monthly safety inspections and fire drills. Complete mandatory training, documentation, and incident reports within organizational guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Valid Ohio driver's license
- Current Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) Certificate of completion
- Minimum 1-2 years on the job law enforcement / criminal justice /military training
- Successfully qualify with duty weapons
- Successfully qualify with an ECD
- Successfully complete AED-CPR training
- Must be familiar with LEADS and NCIC computer functions
- Must maintain current OPOTA status
- Must successfully qualify with firearm
- Ability to appear in court as needed
- Operate Police vehicle(s)
- Perform comprehensive investigation on reported incident reports
- Demonstrate effective and safe traffic control measures
- Key control-lock and unlock doors
- Maintain current CPR and annual AED and ECD certification status
