Job Summary

Enforce the law, prevent crime, and suppress disturbances within the Midland County Hospital District, including investigating criminal and non-criminal incidents, arresting offenders, and recovering stolen property. Conduct interior and exterior patrols, perform security clocking rounds, and respond immediately to code situations, emergency calls, and disaster scenarios. Provide service, information, and aid to patients, staff, visitors, and employees while maintaining a high-visibility profile to deter criminal activity. Prepare detailed written reports on all activities, handle lost and found articles, and assist with Medivac operations and patient transport as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Be able to follow written and oral instructions
  • Current Texas Peace Officer License through TCOLE
  • 12 or more years of experience as a Texas Peace Officer
  • Valid Texas Class C driver's license
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to use computer, typewriter, two-way radio, and telephone
  • Must be able to qualify for Texas Motor Vehicle Insurance
  • Visual, auditory and oral factory acuity
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions with varying work hours and shifts
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, see, speak and hear
