Job Summary
Conduct rounding and foot and vehicle patrols in and around IU Health properties, responding to calls for service and enforcing rules, regulations, and state statutes. Assist teams with de-escalating tense situations, investigate criminal activity and vehicle crashes, and maintain records and logs. Provide direction to team members, guests, and patients while performing physical security screenings to create a safe healthcare environment. Complete written reports as required and obtain NCIC/IDACS certification. Requires a high school diploma, current Indiana driver's license, and successful completion of Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Tier I or Tier II training within one year.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 0-3 years of relevant experience
- current non-restricted Indiana Driver's License
- successful completion of Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Tier I or Tier II training within one (1) year after appointment as a police officer
- ability to obtain NCIC/IDACS certification and access
- no convictions for felony, domestic violence or violent misdemeanor offenses
- ability to pass a pre-employment background investigation, drug screening and psychological exam
- working knowledge of computers and various software programs
- never having had law enforcement officer license denied by final order or revoked
- not currently on suspension or having a voluntary surrender of a law enforcement license currently in effect
- ability to work rotating shifts (6pm - 6am OR 6am - 6pm)
- ability to work on-site at Paoli Hospital
