Conduct law enforcement duties in and around the City of Branson, Missouri, maintaining 24/7/365 readiness with flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Serve the community while upholding departmental standards, utilizing fully equipped gear including a duty pistol, ballistic vest, and rifle. Pursue special assignments such as SWAT, detective work, K-9, field training, or bike patrol to foster career growth. Maintain a valid Missouri P.O.S.T. certificate and possess a clean criminal record. The role offers a starting hourly wage of $23.76, with experienced lateral hires earning between $53,000 and $59,000 annually.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Successful completion of a Certified Law Enforcement Academy
- Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri P.O.S.T. Certificate as a condition of employment
- Candidates with certifications from other states will be allowed 30 days to receive P.O.S.T. Certification in the state of Missouri after the offer of employment is made
- Must be at least 21 years of age at the start of employment
- Vision must be correctable to 20/40 and pass the Ishihara color vision test and/or be able to recognize the colors of traffic signals and devices showing red, green and amber
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position
- Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson
- Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings, a background investigation, polygraph, psychological, and medical/physical examinations
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- This position requires work to be performed onsite
- This position requires flexibility, as it may involve shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with the Department's 24/7/365 operations
