Job Summary
Enforce laws, protect persons and property, and prevent crimes by patrolling assigned areas via motor vehicle or on foot, inspecting premises for suspicious conditions, and responding to active alarms. Control vehicular and pedestrian traffic flow, enforce traffic and DUI codes, and issue citations or warnings. Detect, investigate, and prosecute criminal offenders by securing crime scenes, collecting evidence, and testifying in court. Perform specialized police work including serving warrants, processing prisoners, and operating surveillance equipment. Maintain high community visibility while attending required training, meetings, and seminars to stay current with policies and case law.
