Job Summary
Maintain certification through the Department of Criminal Justice Services while ensuring access control of personnel, materials, and packages entering or leaving restricted areas. Protect classified material and sensitive assets critical to national security by remaining vigilant and prepared to respond to security threats and emergencies. Meet compliance standards by following regulatory requirements established by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Department of Energy. Take on additional duties as assigned to contribute to overall security efforts. This role requires a Virginia DCJS Certified Law Enforcement Officer, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferably a Virginia DCJS Certified Law Enforcement Officer
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to complete physical agility tests, physical exams, psychological evaluations, and drug screenings
- U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) 'Q' clearance
- Maintain the certification of a certified police officer through the Department of Criminal Justice Services
- Meet compliance standards by following regulatory requirements established by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the Department of Energy (DOE)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation, drug test and previous employment reference verifications
