Job Summary
Police Officer for AISD for the 2026-2027 school year; responsibility to handle law enforcement and police-related matters at District facilities and events in accordance with the Texas Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, District policies, and directives from the Chief of Police. Collaborate with school administration, students, staff, other District police officers, and local/state officials to maintain a safe campus or event environment. Requires licensure (Texas Peace Officer license and Intermediate Peace Officer certificate) and/or 5 years of peace officer experience, ability to pass physical, psychiatric, and drug tests, and bondability. 195-day calendar; Grade 6 on the attached pay plan. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Texas Peace Officer license issued by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Intermediate Peace Officer certificate and/or 5 years Peace Officers experience
- Bondable as required by Texas Education Code §37.081(h)
- Ability to pass required physical, psychiatric, and drug tests
- Ability to work well with both youth and adults, as well as District staff and peers
- Experience: Background in law enforcement or related work experience
