Job Summary
Supervise and manage personnel and resources for the Patrol Division, Training, Extra Events, and campus safety. Act as a first-line supervisor to Sergeants and Officers, coordinating schedules for regular tours and special events. Enforce municipal, county, state, and federal laws while serving as a liaison with local, county, state, and federal agencies. Review incident statistics to develop plans addressing future crimes and command special events, overseeing operational flow and efficiency. Administer the Records Management System and Computer Aided Dispatching system, collecting and compiling uniform crime statistics for state and national databases. Prepare detailed reports, lead project development, and modify work procedures across multiple disciplines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree and/or vocational or technical school and/or specialized training or certification in area of law enforcement supervision
- four (4) years of experience as a commissioned officer with Texas Southern University Police Department
- a total of five (6) years combined experience
- one year of experience at the next lowest rank
- Associate degree
- 10 years of police experience
- 3 years supervisory as a sergeant
- 7 years supervisory at any level recognized by this department
- Licensed as a Texas peace officer through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education
- Valid Texas Drivers License
- Field Training Officer (FTO)
- Advance Peace Officer Certification
- Master peace officer certification preferred
- Federal, State, Local and County laws
- Policies, procedures, and practices

- Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications
