Job Summary
The City of Irondale seeks a Police Chief II to manage operations of a police department. Requires POST certification and either an Associate's degree with 4 years of supervisory experience, a Bachelor's degree with 3 years, or 15 years of law enforcement experience with 4 years of supervisory experience. Salary range is $100,776 - $156,332.
Required Qualifications
- Current Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
- Associate's degree in business or police administration, criminal justice, law enforcement, public administration or a closely related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in law enforcement at the level of Police/Sheriff's Lieutenant (or equivalent) or higher rank.
- At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in law enforcement at the level of Police/Sheriff's Lieutenant (or equivalent) or higher rank (if going for Option B).
- Fifteen (15) years of law enforcement experience (if going for Option C).
- At least 4 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in law enforcement at the level of Police/Sheriff's Lieutenant (or equivalent) or higher rank (if going for Option C).
