Job Summary
Maintain 24/7 service at the front desk while training and equipping cadets in Community Policing and Problem Oriented Policing. Place cadets within the department where there is currently a need for their services to support the Support Services Division. This part-time, non-sworn uniform position exposes Criminal Justice students to police work through hands-on experience. Applicants must hold a valid driver's license, demonstrate working knowledge of computers and electronic data processing, and possess the ability to effectively meet and deal with the public.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
- Currently enrolled in a criminal justice program or related field of study
- Valid driver's license
- Satisfactory driving record
- Working knowledge of computers and electronic data processing
- Working knowledge of modern police practices and procedures
- Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Must be able to pass a nicotine test
