Pole School Weld Instructor (2nd Shift)

Job Summary
Oversee daily pole school operations, including hands-on training for FCAW, SAW, and SMAW processes, while conducting classroom instruction on safety, symbols, and acceptance criteria. Provide welding support to production staff by troubleshooting techniques, maintaining equipment calibration, and assisting with welding procedure specification qualifications. Evaluate and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality, ensuring all welder candidates maintain proper testing and qualification records. Work the second shift with strong communication skills and a commitment to team goals.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to work second shift
- 3 - 5 years FCAW, SAW, and SMAW welding experience
- Proficient using various weld inspection tools such as amp/volt/wire feed/gas flow meters, fillet weld gages, undercut gages, etc
- Able to read and comprehend welding symbols, welding procedure specifications, work instructions, drawings, bill of materials, etc
- Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding procedure specification
- Working knowledge of weld filler materials and base materials
- Possess written and oral communication skills
- Regular and predictable attendance
- A great attitude
- An ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal
Desired Qualifications
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- AWS Certified Welding Educator (CWE)
- Welding related associate degree
