Job Summary

Deal various poker games including Seven Card Stud, Texas Hold'em, and Omaha to customers on assigned shifts, aiming for thirty hands per hour. Handle player transactions, award pots, and ensure payouts are made quickly and accurately while maintaining game protection and pace. Inform the Pit Manager of any irregularities, disputes, or arguments regarding specific players. Provide excellent customer service, promote the Poker Room, and safeguard company assets in a friendly, harmonious atmosphere. Begin rotation in complete uniform and adhere to strict start times and dress code.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of public relations and customer service.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various card and poker games.
  • Skill in accurately recording numbers and payouts.
  • Knowledge in dealing Seven Card Stud, Texas Hold'em, Omaha, and other poker games.
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public.
  • Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters and sign a confidentiality statement prior to employment.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain additional education and training.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must adhere to the Tribe's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment.
  • Must pass a background security check with the Oneida Nation in order to meet the Employment Eligibility Requirements, Tribal/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance as they pertain to the position.
  • A temporary license or Gaming License issued by the Oneida Gaming Commission is required as a condition of employment and continuing employment within the Oneida Nation's Gaming Division.
  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma, HSED Diploma or GED Certification is required.
  • Applicants age fifty (50) and older are exempt from this requirement.
  • One (1) year of poker dealing experience.
  • Must pass an audition demonstrating proficiency in poker dealing.
  • Meet strict start times and adhere to a strict dress code.
  • Must be able to spend a significant amount of time twisting and turning with upper extremities extended across gaming table.
  • Evening, holiday and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
  • Work environment is NOT smoke, noise, or dust-free.
  • A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.
