Job Summary
10-session after-school Pokémon Trading Card Game (Pokémon TCG) instruction course delivered in-person at partner schools. The instructor delivers structured, beginner-friendly lessons on rules, turn structure, card types, deck-building fundamentals, and game-state comprehension, while fostering sportsmanship, safe handling of materials, and inclusive participation. Responsibilities include delivering engaging, student-centered instruction across the 10-week cycle, adapting pacing to student readiness, running mini-tournaments or leagues where appropriate, and maintaining professional communication with site staff and Concorde program contacts for attendance and session tracking. The role emphasizes reading comprehension, math fluency (counting, probability, arithmetic), and developing strategic thinking through organized gameplay. Qualifications include substantial college credit or an associate degree, familiarity with the game, experience teaching or supervising school-age students in structured environments, strong facilitation and group-management skills, reliability, and a positive, respectful classroom environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 60 college credits (or Associate degree in progress/completed)
- Demonstrated familiarity with the Pokémon Trading Card Game rules and gameplay
- Experience working with school-age students in structured settings (school, camps, after-school, tutoring, youth programs)
- Strong facilitation skills and comfort managing small groups during games
- Reliable, punctual, and professional; able to follow school policies and program boundaries
- Ability to maintain a positive, inclusive environment emphasizing fairness, respect, and community-building
