Job Summary
The Point of Contact supports the office and physicians with minimal supervision, creating a positive first impression for patients. Responsibilities include processing 40-50 messages per day from the PAC via Keona Health, triaging calls, documenting messages in EMR for physician disposition, contacting patients to provide results or arrange treatment, scanning and indexing information into patient charts, reviewing for completeness, entering demographics into Practice Management/EHR, explaining procedures and distributing educational materials, identifying common post-procedure issues and medication side effects, scheduling office appointments and external tests, coordinating with physicians on preferences, e-scribing medications per doctor preference, and assisting with applicable medical-record/policy-related tasks and FMLA paperwork. The role requires travel between multiple sites within a geographic region, strong customer service and communication skills, proficiency in medical terminology and relevant coding, and the ability to work in a collaborative healthcare environment with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two (2) years of front office experience, preferably in a medical setting
- Preferred: Prior Medical Assistant or prior patient assistance center experience
- Proficient typing a minimum of 40 words per minute
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology, ICD-10, and CPT-4 Code
- Ability to type and document accurately in EMR/EHR
- Travel between multiple sites within a geographic region
