Job Summary
Research and write original buying guides, tutorials, and news specifically related to streaming hardware, platforms, and AV setups. Extract story cores to deliver timely reports in a fast-paced environment while pitching unique, reader-obsessed article topics to the Editorial team. Input work into the in-house CMS, format images per guidelines, and coordinate assignments with feedback. Stay current on streaming ecosystem updates, AV hardware news, and home theater products while adhering to Pocket-lint's Editorial Standards and the Valnet Publishing Group's prohibition on AI.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant experience in writing and editing technology or AV content in the English language
- Deep knowledge and experience with the streaming ecosystem (Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV) and media servers (Plex)
- Expert knowledge and broad familiarity with home theater hardware (Smart TVs, HDMI standards, soundbars, audio formats, etc.)
- Ability to think analytically; providing insightful commentary that applauds or criticizes industry developments
- Proficiency with SEO practices and experience using a custom CMS
- A self-starter attitude with a passion for staying ahead of the tech curve
- Adherence to Editorial Standards, including a prohibition on using Artificial Intelligence
