Job Summary
Production Planning Specialist to develop and execute optimized production plans balancing machine utilization, inventory levels, and customer delivery commitments. Acts as the operational link between sales, production, procurement, and warehouse teams; proactively manages capacity and materials, maintains master data and MRP settings, and drives continuous improvements in throughput and storage efficiency. Schedule is generally Monday–Friday with potential for occasional schedule changes; occasional overnight travel may be required. Located in Lexington, NC, this full-time role emphasizes data-driven planning, coordination across departments, and delivery of reliable, cost-effective production.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2–5+ years production or materials planning experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on daily production scheduling and capacity planning experience
- Strong materials planning / MRP execution skills
- ERP experience (SAP strongly preferred)
- Experience creating and managing production documentation
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and work independently
- Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH)
- Attention to detail and ability to report on utilization and storage capacity/stock
