Job Summary
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with MAT Certification sought to conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health disorders, develop treatment plans, prescribe/manage psychotropic medications, and provide psychotherapy across the lifespan. Responsibilities include comprehensive psychiatric assessments, collaborative care with a multidisciplinary team, prescribing and monitoring medications, delivering evidence-based therapies (CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing), monitoring progress and side effects, educating patients and families, documenting in EHRs, participating in supervision/continuing education, and coordinating with community agencies to promote mental health. Requires Master’s or Doctoral degree in PMH nursing, current PMHNP or FNP licensure with MAT certification, ANCC/AANP certification, and a minimum of 5 years of clinical PMHNP experience; strong assessment, diagnostic, treatment planning, and crisis-intervention skills; proficiency with EHRs and commitment to evidence-based practice.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in psychiatric mental health nursing from an accredited program
- Current state licensure as a PMHNP or FNP with MAT Certification
- Certification as a PMHNP or FNP with MAT Certification by the ANCC or AANP
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a PMHNP in a clinical setting
