Job Summary
Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans for patients in acute and chronic child/adolescent settings. Develop individualized treatment plans including medication management and therapy options while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure top-tier care. Respond promptly to consult requests from the Emergency Department and Inpatient units, offering expert psychiatric assessments and recommendations. Prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary, monitor regimens to optimize effectiveness, and implement therapeutic techniques for various conditions. Maintain accurate medical records, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and provide education and support to residents and families regarding mental health conditions. This onsite role in Johnstown, PA, involves Saturday and Sunday 8-hour shifts with additional on-call availability, offering up to $90/hr for new graduates or those with two years of clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health
- Current and unrestricted PMHNP license in the state of PA
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a PMHNP, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Active and unrestricted DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Active and unrestricted driver's license

- Participation in one weekend shift per month and additional on-call shifts as needed, providing emergency psychiatric care and consultation
