Job Summary
Operate the thermoforming machine, monitoring computer screens and interacting with equipment controls to ensure smooth production. Load and feed recycled plastic flakes onto the machine, unload rolls as needed, and palletize finished goods while scanning inventory. Perform routine quality checks for consistency and durability, maintain work area cleanliness, and adhere to safety protocols including proper PPE use. Communicate key issues and machine status to management and team members. This role supports Hickman's sustainability initiatives in transforming plastic into egg cartons. Training begins during daytime hours before transitioning to the PM evening/night shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain forklift and pallet jack certification
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift to 50 pounds throughout an 8-hour shift or more
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to safety and quality standards
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends
- Self-motivated team player
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery
- Ability to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds
- Drug-free status (ineligible if engaged in current use of any drug)

- Experience in a manufacturing or machine operation environment
- Prior food production or processing experience
