Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance on yellow iron, trailers, and diesel semis by changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment. Inspect, test, and listen to defective machinery to diagnose malfunctions using hand tools, precision instruments, and power tools. Document work performed, parts used, and findings by uploading pictures to Repair Orders. Communicate identified repairs to the shop manager for schedule updates while maintaining independence and adhering to OSHA, EPA, and DOT safety policies. Requires lifting heavy objects and one year of mechanical knowledge (preferred). Join a local, family-owned Recycle Waste Services team where you can learn new skills across diverse equipment types.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to perform necessary preventative maintenance
- Must be able to identify additional needed repairs
- Must be able to communicate repairs to the shop manager
- Must be able to lift heavy objects
- Must work with a high degree of independence
- Must maintain a high level of productivity
- Must be able to work within or close to most standard repair times
- Must communicate with co-workers, management and support team
- Must perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT
- Must participate and complete all-in company required safety training
Desired Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
