Job Summary
PM&R Technician supports patient care by preparing treatment area, patient, equipment, and materials; assisting with PM&R therapy procedures under supervision of a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine and/or Physical Therapist. Responsibilities include preparing the treatment room and patients for therapy, providing information to patients, educating patients on equipment and exercise routines, maintaining patient confidentiality, ensuring safety and cleanliness, transporting and positioning patients, supplying and maintaining PM&R equipment and supplies, performing preventive maintenance, scheduling appointments, handling phone inquiries and rescheduling missed appointments, and forwarding notes for billing. Requires ability to work in a clinic/office setting with bilingual English/Spanish preferred, and must meet physical requirements (manual dexterity, lifting up to 40 lbs). Education/training includes a minimum high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited related program; CPR/AED required. Experience: at least 1 year in a customer-service role; EMR/computer skills essential.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Technician, Physical Therapy Aide Specialist, Medical Assistant, or closely related program, preferred
- CPR Certification with AED required
- Minimum of one (1) year in a customer service-related role required
- Two (2) years preferred
- Knowledge of Word processing software, spreadsheet software, Internet, and database software
- Skilled in use of computer/EMR systems
