Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance tasks on various types of construction equipment in the field to prolong its lifespan while communicating with customers and co-workers regarding job progress. Maintain a safe working environment by observing all safety laws, policies, and rules on-site and during vehicle operation. Drive a van or truck to customer locations, handling items weighing up to 100 pounds while standing, walking, and performing physical tasks in varying weather conditions. This role supports Hugg and Hall Equipment Company, the industry-leading full-service industrial and construction equipment dealership in the South, with locations throughout Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months to 1-year hands-on experience as a service technician/mechanic in the material handling equipment industry
- mechanical training/education
- experience in a related industry
- Have your own complete line of tools including specialized tools needed to complete the job at the customer site
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Minimum 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical aptitude/experience in hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical systems
- Familiarity with equipment operation
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment
- Ability to read or be trained in reading schematics
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Occasionally may be required to lift items weighing up to 100 pounds
- Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds
- requires standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and crawling
- requires bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting handling/fingering on a daily basis
- must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes
