Plumbing Inspector and/or Plans Examiner

Job Summary
Conduct examination of building permit applications, including blueprints, specifications, surveys, product approvals, and shop drawings for compliance with the Florida Building Code and related regulations. Prepare written and electronic reports, issue notices of correction, and recognize unique problems to resolve technical code issues with design professionals and contractors. Inspect buildings and facilities for code compliance as required by the supervisor, while maintaining all required records and reports. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager. Some travel may be required for inspections and managing projects in the assigned area.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Plumbing Contractor's for a minimum of five (5) years
- State of Florida Plan Review License (PX) in building
- State of Florida Inspector License (BN) in building
- ICC Residential & Commercial Plans Examiner and/ or Inspection certification in building
- Must be certified or certifiable as a Building Plans Examiner by the Miami Dade and/or the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals (BORA)
- knowledge of the Florida Building Code and other regulations pertaining to construction and development
- Ability to understand and interpret codes and evaluate project proposals and projects under construction to verify conformance with code requirements
