Job Summary
Quality Assurance Manager for Plumbing Inspections within NYC Department of Buildings. Responsible for enforcing work performance standards, conducting QA of inspections, reviewing results and filings (violations, unsafe building reports, orders for dismissal), training staff, enforcing codes and laws, developing curricula, planning investigations, determining unsafe conditions for engineering review, testifying at ECB or court, maintaining records, issuing stop-work orders, and representing the Department in meetings with public agencies and private entities. May operate a motor vehicle. Remote work up to 2 days per week under the Remote Work Pilot Program.
Required Qualifications
- Seven years of full-time satisfactory experience working at a construction trade or working as an inspector of construction, hoists and rigging, plumbing, boilers, or elevators; at least 18 months of which must have been in a managerial or administrative capacity; or
- At least two years of experience, as described in "1" above, at least 18 months of which must have been in a managerial or administrative capacity, and a license as a professional engineer or registered architect issued pursuant to the education law; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” above. All candidates must have at least 2 years of experience as described in "1" above, at least 18 months of which must have been in a managerial or administrative capacity. One year of experience will be credited for each year of apprenticeship in the construction trades or building inspection up to a maximum of three years of the general experience.
