Plumbing I - Nights (3rd Shift)

Job Summary
Cutting, threading, and bending pipes while reading blueprints and piping schematics to assemble and install pressure-tested systems for industrial boilers. Collaborate with welders and electricians to ensure proper water, steam, and gas flow, adhering to ASME codes and work instructions under supervision. Perform basic pipefitting tasks including measuring layouts and preparing materials, gaining familiarity with carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper piping. Work independently after training in a fast-paced shop floor environment requiring the ability to lift over 50 pounds and tolerate moderate noise, heat, and cold.
Required Qualifications
- General plumbing knowledge
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year certificate from college or technical school or a minimum of one year related experience, or 6 month with the department
- Ability to read and comprehend schematics and blueprints (drawings)
- Utilize calculators and basic math skills in all units of measure
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, schematic diagram, drawing, or schedule form
- Identify plumbing/welding symbols
- Ability to transfer information from drawings / wiring schematics to the project
- Incorporate any design changes into the project
