Job Summary
Develop, design and plan plumbing and fire protection system concepts and project specifications; prepare calculations and reports; perform fire suppression system selection, preliminary designs, and performance specifications; consult on diligence, sustainability analyses, and feasibility reports; produce drawings consistent with client requirements and standards; ensure designs comply with company standards; review QA/QC drawings for the PFP team; attend client meetings with Project Managers; participate in inter-departmental project management meetings; mentor junior plumbing/fire protection engineers and designers.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree from an accredited college or university
- 5+ years relevant industry experience
- Strong technical skills with AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Knowledge of fire suppression systems and mechanical/plumbing trades
- Knowledge of building codes and drawings/documents
- Ability to independently perform fire suppression hydraulic calculations
- Ability to prepare calculations, reports, and project specifications
- Experience reviewing QA/QC drawings for PFP team
- Ability to mentor junior plumbing/fire protection engineers and designers
