Job Summary
Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and RFPs to determine scope and requirements for plumbing bids. Develop detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses while leveraging experience in 5-over-2 multifamily construction. Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing and work with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities. Prepare and submit bid proposals within established deadlines, maintaining detailed records of assumptions and generating reports on project costs and profitability. Communicate with clients to clarify requirements and participate in bid presentations. Requires 3+ years of plumbing estimation experience, proficiency in estimation software, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in plumbing estimation, construction estimation, or a related role
- Strong understanding of 5-over-2 multifamily construction, plumbing systems, materials, and local building codes
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Must be able to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
