Job Summary
Plumbing & Equipment Supervisor at Yale directs site operations for general licensed and unlicensed trades in maintenance, custodial, and building systems, overseeing the maintenance, repairs, and replacement of plumbing systems and building equipment. Leads diverse trade functions, staffing plans, training, payroll and employee relations, and service-delivery standards to ensure safe, efficient operations. Collaborates with internal customers and external vendors/contractors, sequences preventive maintenance and emergency-response activities, and supports sustainability initiatives and special events. Responsibilities include planning, prioritizing, and communicating work with facilities and tenants; coordinating with the University Architect and Capital Program on design standards; supervising nonexempt staff; conducting safety inspections; and ensuring compliance with safety codes and policies. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree and seven years of related experience or an equivalent mix of education and trades experience.
