Job Summary
Design plumbing systems and produce construction documentation for commercial, residential, mixed-use, and institutional projects. Execute plumbing and piping system design for domestic water, hot water, sanitary sewer, and storm water networks. Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and system layout while coordinating with internal disciplines. Read construction documents, floor plans, and specifications; produce drawings and Building Information Modeling (BIM) models. Apply knowledge of building codes and industry standards to write specifications, reports, narratives, and surveys. Prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment across Chicago, IL, and Greenwood Village, CO.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with Plumbing emphasis or equivalent industry experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in plumbing and piping system engineering and design
- Ability to operate AutoCAD and Revit BIM software
- Detailed knowledge of building codes and industry standards
- Efficient in MS Office, Outlook, and engineering calculation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in the face of shifting projects and deadlines
- A confident and positive attitude with colleagues and clients
- Location: Chicago, IL or Greenwood Village, CO (hybrid)
- Travel: Up to 10%
